This Memorial Area private residence designed by Dillon Kyle Architects took on a U-plan shape in order to maximize daylight penetration and take advantage of courtyard views throughout. The transparency of the home presented unique challenges for the lighting due to the desire to maintain views and reduce ceiling glare at night. Light levels were balanced across the visible areas of the home as well as across the landscape and centrally located pool. Interior lighting allows the extensive glazing to act as glowing lanterns at night for dramatic views from the courtyard. Lighting was chosen for its clean lines, complimenting the mid-century modern inspired style of the home.
